چکیده

conclusions the diagnosis of thrombocytosis is not easy in all cases. the coexistence of anca and the immune complex in cgn may cause a severe inflammatory state, leading to extreme rt. the roles that the immune complex and anca play on the effect of the platelet count and function in cgn need further research. introduction we describe a female patient with extreme reactive thrombocytosis (rt) in anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibodies (anca)-associated crescentic glomerulonephritis (cgn) with immune complex deposits, which has never been reported before. case presentation a female adolescent with symptoms of oliguria and gross hematuresis had serious renal function impairment (crescent formation and immune complex deposits in renal pathology examination with positive serum anca) and extreme thrombocytosis. we made a diagnosis of cgn and rt. after treatment with prednisone, cyclophosphamide, and plasmapheresis, the symptoms of oliguria and gross hematuresis were relieved remarkably and the serum creatinine and platelet count declined significantly.

A Case of Membranous Glomerulonephritis with Superimposed Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody-Associated Rapidly Progressive Crescentic Glomerulonephritis

Idiopathic membranous glomerulonephritis (IMGN) is commonly diagnosed in adults with proteinuria. Rapid deterioration of renal function is a rare complication of IMGN, except when accompanied by renal vein thrombosis, malignant hypertension, or other underlying disease, including lupus nephritis. Here, we present a case of rapid deterioration of renal function in a patient with MGN superimposed...

Immune-complex deposits in pANCA glomerulonephritis: a pediatric case report.

A 15-year-old boy is admitted to the hospital for clinical signs that suggest a pulmonary-renal syndrome (fever, cough, hemopthoic expectoration, oliguria, gross hematuria). A crescentic pANCA positive glomerulonephritis was configured. However, dense subendothelial deposits were identified in electronic microscopy and immunofluorescence staining showed granular deposits of IgG and C3, kappa an...

anti neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibodies in uveitis

anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibodies have been detected in patients with some autoimmune and vascular diseases such as wegner's granulomatosis, polyarthritis nodosa and systemic lupus erythematosus. indirect immunofluorescence technique has been employed to detect these autoantibodies. by this method, two general patterns of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies were seen: a cytoplasmic (...

Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated pauci-immune glomerulonephritis in a patient with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia.

A 71-year-old woman presented to us in August 2012 with a rash over both lower limbs. Blood tests revealed leukocytosis with white cell count of 22 x 109 /L (neutrophil 1.6 x 109 /L, lymphocytes 20 x 109 /L). Serum creatinine level was 53 μmol/L and serum albumin 42 g/L. Urinalysis showed no albuminuria or microscopic haematuria. Bone marrow biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of chronic lymphocytic...
